Dawlance Electric Kettle (DWEK-7100) Review

Electric kettles are in high demand nowadays due to their easy-to-use nature, fast boiling results and attractive designs. The people of Pakistan and other countries love to purchase these kettles to have some boiling water to prepare their tea, coffee, and specific fast food items (e.g., pastas, soups, and noodles). They also heat some milk for their children and other family members with these appliances. So keeping in view these benefits, I also bought one kettle, Dawlance Electric Kettle (DWEK-7100), three years back. At that time, I bought it for my dowry. But as I am still unmarried by luck, I thought to use the kettle for its review. Yes, I reviewed the kettle carefully and got many useful points that you will learn in today’s post.

Actually, when site users click on a site’s affiliate links, and when they purchase the referred products through those links, the affiliate gets commissions. However, the link in this post is not an affiliate link and can’t be either because Dawlance is unavailable on eBay.)

Regarding Dawlance, I have to add the introductory points for my valuable reader. Dawlance is a famous household appliance brand that originated in Karachi and was acquired by the popular Turkish brand, Arcelik, in 2016. The company of Dawlance is famous for its modern, elegant, and effective products.

Dawlance Electric Kettle Unboxing:

Below are the pics of the kettle’s unboxing that I took myself inside my home.

Now How I Tested the Kettle?

Well, after unboxing the kettle, I assembled it easily. I just had to place the kettle over the switch panel. Then, I added some water inside the kettle (not too less) that was below the minimum liquid level mentioned on its water gauge and plugged in the switch. Afterwards, I turned the button on to initiate the heating. Within a minute or less, the water became hot, and I added that water from the kettle into the cup after turning off the button and unplugging the switch. As I was just testing the product, I didn’t use that water for anything. But that could have been used to prepare a cup of tea, coffee, or green tea. Anyways, I was very happy with the result as it was simple to heat the water with this kettle, and it became hot in a short duration too.

Below are the pics of the kettle’s test.

So it’s time for you to know what I observed and experienced during the kettle’s review.

Review of Dawlance Electric Kettle (DWEK-7100):

The following are the points that I got after considering the kettle details online & offline, customer reviews online, and the test outcome related to black Dawlance Electric Kettle (DWEK-7100):

Liquid Capacity:

The liquid capacity of this electric kettle has two levels. The minimum capacity level is 0.5 L, and the maximum capacity of this appliance is 1 L that feels sufficient. It is recommended by the manufacturer to add at least 0.5 L liquid inside the kettle so that the water could be boiled. Otherwise, the kettle can be off due to its auto shut-off feature. Yes, it has an auto shut-off feature that stops the kettle’s working when the water inside the appliance reaches its boiling point.

But as I told you before, I didn’t add 0.5 L water inside the kettle however not too less. Still, the water got boiled. But the kettle didn’t stop itself by its auto shut-off feature. I unplugged the switch and turned off the on/off button. Actually, the switch and its wire were constrained. This made the kettle keep its auto shut-off feature inactive as mentioned in the manual too. Due to the short wire of the kettle, I couldn’t find a spot in my home where I could plug in the switch properly. So the switch and the wire were constrained, and that didn’t let the auto shut-off feature work. Anyways, I turned off the kettle manually and poured my boiled water into the cup easily.

Hidden Heating Element:

The heating element of the kettle is hidden between the bottom of the kettle and bottom of the water chamber. This makes the kettle secure and easy to clean for the user. Isn’t that great!

Other Benefits:

  • The design of this kettle is contemporary and elegant. So it’s attractive for a user. This makes it suitable to be placed inside a modern kitchen as well.
  • Then, the kettle’s outer body is durable for being made of quality plastic. So you can use the kettle for a long duration because the plastic is strong enough for the kettle’s regular long-term use.
  • This kettle has a 360 degree base too for its easy and smooth assembling with the switch panel.
  • Its lid opens with just one touch. This makes the opening and closing of the kettle simple for a user.
  • Then, the kettle has an illuminated on/off button and LED segment. The segment gets activated when the appliance is on and becomes deactivated when the appliance is off.
  • You can observe the level of the liquid after the liquid addition, its vapours during the boiling, and take any necessary action when needed through the transparent water level indicator.
  • The kettle also offers a user with boil-dry protection. So if you accidentally start the kettle without adding any water, the kettle remains protected or intact by automatically turning off the power. But you cannot add the cold water after this all of a sudden. You’d have to wait for the kettle to cool down before adding the water if you get the product.
  • The product has a good height of 19.7 cm and is suitable for modern kitchen cabinets with ample size and clearance space. It is lightweight as well for weighing 0.95 kg only, so the kettle is highly portable for a user. Yes, I moved the appliance myself from one corner of the room to another with ease while taking some photographs for today’s review.
  • Well, the product operates fast with the operational power of 1200 wattage. And it also boiled my cup of water quickly within a minute or less. So, for busy homeowners who intend to prepare their food items fast, this appliance can be useful.

Cons of the Appliance:

I found two cons of this appliance. The first one is that its cord is short for a general user. I faced some difficulty in plugging in the switch of this appliance. So I suggest Dawlance to make this kettle with a long switch cord in the future. And secondly, the kettle is great for such homes that have a small or medium family size. But for large families, an electric kettle with a large liquid capacity is far better than the one reviewed.

Conclusion:

Well, that’s all what I have to share with my reader regarding the review of Dawlance Electric Kettle (DWEK-7100). I hope you found my content useful. And if you really believe it to be useful, then please share it with your connections. In this way, they can also know about the pros and cons of the product and get one for their kitchen.
